Default another cam thread

before you ask, the search isnt working to well from me right now. i am buying a car that includes a cam 224/234 .369/381 112+4. my question is would i need to have a notch cut into the pistons if i run 1.6 rockers? i dont have any plans for a blower application, so should i sell it and get a cam more set up for n/a applications? also, what else should i go ahead and change while doing the swap other than springs? thanks guys!

That lift is puny.. the Hot Cam is .525 with the 1.6's, .492 with stock. You will not have a problem...
I think that Cam you have is just for sound, or a blower motor, something with alot of air coming in. I would get something with the same duration, and alot more lift, something in the .540 range.

I'm assuming thats at the cam lobe...Its like .590/.610 w/ 1.6s...554/.572 with 1.5s...Whats been done to the heads? I love smaller duration cams as mine is 226/234 with lifts not far off from yours with 1.5s (I'm running 1.6s) Anyway, I'm sure someone will chime in to help with the clearance question...The 1.5s should clear, not sure about using 1.6s...

Yea, is that the Advertised duration, or the actual lift on it. The lope is the 112+2.

thats lobe lift, sorry for the confusion. with 1.5rr that would be .554/.573 and 1.6rr would be .590/.610. as for duration i wasnt sure if it was i bit too biased on the exhaust side of things.

That is a big lift. You should be alright with Pistons that have reliefs in them.
