ohh ok... i must have read it wrong.. i thought you said you tried but couldnt get it to work... it funny after reading this whole thread i got my new issue of High Performance Pontiac and they have a whole article on installing a Moroso Vacuum Pump on big cam and displacement motors... havent had the chance to read it yet but should be very informational...

excellent post, thanks Tony and all who have posted. I am running the Mr gasket pump, and a simple brass regulator. I adjust it when i am at the track
cog belt is a plus, no slippage!
i also have the LT1 head specific moroso fabricated covers, not cheap but rather nice!

That is just the belt, not including the ring pkg. Smokes a tad with the belt off, and with it on lately since the cylinder walls are pushed out of shape and the rings worn out. No regulator needed, 12 to 15in vacume, and nearly the same CFM as the standard pump you list above until 6000rpms or so... even then it's comparible. And it's cheeper.

This is a great thread..... I'll be gettin ready to order my complete setup real soon since i'll actually have a motor to bolt it to.... I'm thinkin I like the Reher morrison setup.... steep at 799 but if it includes everything I need to avoid problems I might have to pick it up...
As an aside my custom fabbed valve covers have the pickup fitting welded in the front near the top so I might be able to avoid the problems you've been having Tony.... my engine builder puts all his fittings in that place....

Off topic, but which MSD Distributor did you go with? The P/N 2345 or P/N 2340? Or since you are running B2B like I am did you just have to use a standard crab tree P/N 8486?

With the Reher & Morrison kit I had only to buy one bolt to install it.
