Default Ls7

What would i have to do to fit an LS7 into a 1997 Camaro? I have, the obvious, an LT1, but i was wondering what i would have to do to fit an LS7 crate motor from Jegs into there, and if the drivetrain would be affected any by the conversion?..

I assume the same things you need to swap in a LS1. Youll need the motor, computer, pretty sure you have to have a new tranny and converter, and dont know about oil pan clearances on the LS7. Only other thing would be that dry sump oil system to make work.

Check out the latest GM High-Tech magazine, GM performance parts put one into a 99 Z28 which will give you a little insight into how the oil system fits in. If I recall correctly they had to relocate the battery to the trunk and put the oil system where the battery used to be.

I would just stick with a ls1-ls2 if I were to do a swap to keep it simple.

But a ls7 would be awsome

Get you an LQ9 and build it up. That's what I was planning, but the cost was a little high right now. I was going to build it into a 7.4l.
