PS the difference b/w 115 and 120 is pretty significant, lumping them together is pretty silly.

To each his own... to me "just breaking 12's" is a snoozefest down the track.

Remember guys there are quite a few LT1's that ran 118-120+mph with that old tech CC306 and I may have been one of the quickest with it, 11.15@121mph in good weather, normally 119+mph with 3.42's in the rear so it's not that bad but it does take a good tune. Later Clint

So how do you go about getting a custom cam that will give me more power than a cc306 without head work?

Pepe, what kind of hood do you have and where did you get it? Love the looks while still retaining the factory apperance.

You know you guys might think I'm a little crazy for doing this but I went ahead and bought the 847 cam. I have all the bolt ons except for the TB and I will be installing a 3000 stall and a shift kit along with eith a 3.73 or a 4.10 gear. The problem is my car has 157K miles on it but I still have excellent oil pres and uses no oil out of the ordinary. I just love the way these cams sound, I don't plan on taking it to the track or spinning it beyond 6500. The heads are stock for now and I know in time I will need a rebuild but for now I want fun from the cam. Yes I also have valve springs with it along with a new timing chain and lifters. This is my DD but my question is can the bottom end take it just tooling around town and on the highway? I'm sure I'll get on it, how could you not...but I'll try not too hard.

I have an 847 in the stock bottom and its a good time indeed. My short block ended up needing some love after about a season and a half of hard racing every weekend.

Sad part is, it was due to the stock pick-up falling off. Never spun a bearing or anything but I pulled it to replace the pump and freshen it up. Still running the stock bottom end just with better oil control and fresh King Alecular bearings.
