Ok I havent seen this on any other lt1's besides mine. Is it something I can take off? It looks like the speed cable goes to it.

First picture is the thing(looks like a small electric motor)
Second picture is where it is located on the engine.

Do you have a button on your center console for that. If so, can you take a picture for me and post it. According to my RPO numbers, my car is supposed to have traction control but I don't have that box, and there was a small hole in my center console that I thought may have been where the switch was.

Anyway, I am sure you can delete it as mine clearly has been. It will leave a hole in the console if you remove the switch i guess. You can do what I did and fill the hole with filler and paint the console.

I don't know if i gave any info you were looking for. If not, sorry, I am just rambling on today.

Hey punished U do you have cruise control. Someone on another forum was saying they thought that cruise control was apart of the system along with traction control?

Yeah that is where the ashtray usually goes. Just get the ashtray lid from a parts car, or the whole assembly

Must be different on a TA.. my ash tray is infront of the Console. You can probably go to the Junk Yard, and get some of the regular cables that a V6 F-body has.

Thanks for the picture, yeah that whole grey assembly that the switch is on is gone in my car. There was just a small hole under it where I assume the wires went.

The ash tray is up front that is just and extra place in the console like a change holder or something if your car didnt come with trac or perform.

Ya under the gray is a little white box that holds the circuit board and lights for the switches. someone must have just removed yours. ?? Does your TC light come on when you start the car . My car always starts with tc active so I have to push the button which turns on the light in my gauge cluster.

Yea, that's what I got. I use it for a cup holder, doesn't really work though with a stiff suspension.. I emptied the change out of it the other day, it was like $10 in that thing.

When I start my car, the "traction" light lights up for about 1 second with all the other lights, and then goes off. So I don't know whether it is on or off, I assume off since I don't have that box in the engine bay.

Man I'm glad I got a 94, so traction control adds more junk under the hood, just what the LT1 engine bay needs.

I had the low traction light come on once in the rain. I don't have any of that traction crap, but I thought it was pretty cool that it came on at that time, not all the times I have lit them up or sliding around corners..

It is a little light in the left corner it says TCS then off under it. Yours must have been programed out since it doesnt come on and you aren't running constant trac control.

I have had that light come on a few times, usually if I am driving on a street that they have taken the top layer of asphalt off, and are going to repave it.

I will have to see if a TCS light comes on the next time I start my car, I don't think I have ever noticed it.
