Hey the set-up under the hood looks good , and congrats on getting it all done.

Its allways nice to have a project go so well.

On the other hand you are braver than me to cut the hood to make it fit, I also suggest a different hood to hide the lid.

You want me to have a hood on it, buy one for me, it's close to Christmas.
For now it works, and if the fact that I have it poking up out of the Hood is all you notice, not the work and idea behind it, terrible..

To everyone else, thanks for the comments. It took a little work, and like I said earlier, the initial test picked up 2 tenths in the quarter. I didn't gain 10hp from it, that is what the performance Lid is good for. That setup as a whole added more than that. I am getting it Dyno'd soon, so we will see.

Dont take it the wrong way,i'm not one to make negative comments about anyones car.The idea has been done before!I just dont thinks its worth 2tenths to have to cut your hood and let it look like that.My moto is,if your going to do it do it right the first time....

I don't think you should let the purchase of a $400-$800 hood keep you from improving the crappy intake on the LT1. I say why not if it improves your performance. Looks mean crap when your getting your a$$ kicked at the light.

To each his own,for $400-800,you could spend the money on something that will get you more than 2tenths..If and when its complete, you will get a big thumbs up...........

Hey, suck nuts.
Some of us like to think and play with stuff. Someone said it earlier, hoods are a dime a dozen..

I had the original Elbow Intake on it before I went to this. I know it's different, but it works. There is a million red Camaros around, I want mine a little different. I just bolted in the LS1 setup and cut the Hood to fit it.

This car is setup to be sleek, it has curves. A Shaker type hood scoop would take a bit of work, it wouldn't look like the traditional Shaker Scoop.

Did you do a before/after dyno? And what was the weather, 60', and mph on the runs where you gained .2 over the intake setup, a complete rundown of the timeslips and weather would be nice. My friend who has a 93 (speed density) hotcamed car ran a bunch of passes with a stock elbow, SLP CAI, and consistenly trapped the same, then he took off everything and ran an open TB and didnt gain anything at all.

Weather was the same cause it was like a week after. The fastest I got ever fully warmed up at the track was 12.78@109. Cold, warming the car up to the track testing the LS1 Intake idea, it got a 12.80@111. Based on that and the trap speed, and when the original elbow got a 13.1 Cold, I say it's good for atleast 2 tenths, and I just added a preformance Lid. I couldn't get the full potential out of it the first time cause that is when the old Engine went, but it trapped 2mph faster, and it wasn't even warmed up. Now I have a fresh Engine, and it's a hell of alot more stout.
