How does the weight of your hood compare to a stock one?

Hmmm, what kind of proof are you looking for? I peronally haven't seen a really good right up on it. I read several articles making reference to the poor intake design of the LT1. Like this one for example

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_LT_engine

I think the pure physics of it sort of speaks for itself IMO.

Hey merv what all had to be done to get the LS1 lid on there? Did anything have to be modified besides the hood?

I got a faster trap speed and a faster ET by .2 sec as of now, that was before the Engine went out. It works though, I am going to run it this spring and see what it does.

I had to cut a little bit on that cross member in the front. Everything else bolted right in.

One of my guys here at work showed me this earlier.
http://www.saracing.net/phpBB/viewto...3294&start=330
Someone got on LS1TECH and took the pics that I posted, put them in a thread on
that website. I guess they were tryin to make fun of it.
The guy that posted the pics has a 02 Mustang GT that runs 14.3's, with a 2.1 60ft, so if he is tryin to talk ****, he can talk to my 12.6's, 1.9 60ft's...

Heres another question. If you went that far to cut the hood, you should have put a WS6 intake on it. It has a taller intake port that is under the filter, since the WS6 is ram air. It sits higher then a stock ls1 itnake, but if its sticking out the hood already, whats another inch. And the intake port might even sit above the hood a bit and act as a real ram air!!

Would a lid be really be much better than an SLP cold air intake?

You say it was .2 tenths quicker.... than what? The stock intake setup, a K&N CAI? what? You were not clear on that.

BTW that Sunoco hood looks like it will clear that setup. And if it will I will do the same thing.

.2 faster than the modified CAI that I had on it already, and that intake was pretty good..

Oh and merv you are still full of ****, why don't you tell them the truth about how many times you wrecked the car driving stupid. or about how you tell everyone it has 425 hp when really it only dynoed 318 rwhp
