Hey, if you try out the sunoco hood and it works, I think I will do this setup then, I want a sunoco hood.

Let us know your dyno results also.
I think its kinda neat the way it looks now, probably raises a few eyebrows.

I think I know what you mean..kinda like the old IROC's.
It raises a few eyebrows..look what it did on here, got lots of comments. Most were good, and then you have the occassional negativity..

The next thing I think I am goin to do is get some of my extra Aluminum Flashing, and cover up the back of the Lid, so no one messes with any of the connections, and it's closed up a little more.

I had a small fiberglass cowl on my LT1 with black outs in the front, and it looked bad ***.

Get a hood, and it will look bad ***!

Congrats on your success on the project.

I know a guy in an Eclipse, he made a whole Front Bumper Cover out of it so he could get better air flow and still look decent. He looked like ***..

Kinda looks like a modern day shaker hood, So the LS1 is a little taller, interesting, learn something new everyday, I figured that it would have fit no cutting necessary

[Who are referring to that is getting their *** kicked?
Just wonderin, cause it eats alot of people around here.. [/QUOTE]

Im referring to people who are more concerned with looks rather than performance. I think if the modification (yours inparticular) will make the car perform better than who cares what it looks like.

Yea, it doesn't look that bad. A couple of people looked at it the other day, and were like "that thing is interesting..looks like it will run if that work went into it..."

It's about 1 1/4 inches higher in the front. The LT1 cars are more streamline.

Around here, they want an insane amount to do something like that. I already looked..
What I need to to is get a Cowl that will fit from the back of it up to the back of the Hood. That will look better, blending it kinda..

Congrats on the conversion, and I think the LS1 intake is a much better setup then the CAI for the LT1...However i think the lid hanging out the hood looks bad. But if you like it, then more power to ya..its your car not mine. Since i am expessing my opinions i think the Sunoco hood looks fantastic on LS1 cars, but i honestly don't think it looks good on the LT1 nose.

Some one has done it on here and posted a pic it does take some fabrication and the rad has to be pulled toward the block some and have a little cutting done to the top of it. Also you need to make custom straps to hold the rad in its new place. It was posted awhile back i think in October so try a search.

well to me, there's not a aftermarket hood made for them that looks better than the sunoco. The Stock SS hod is the best IMO but i didnt have 700+ to lay down for a new one. And used one's are few and far between. All my friends say it looks mean in the rear view....but i dont ever stay back there for long.
