Default LS1 Intake Coversion

I just got my Granatelli Lid on it, so I figured I would post some pics up. It looks a lot better with that Lid.

Yes, I know it needs a paint job, too many people want to hit it with carts and crap, so I am not worried about that for now.

Looks better than your other lid you had with the sticker marks... I think that the sunoco hood would fit on there just barely... God, I wish I new for sure that it would work.

Thanks guys. It costed about $250 total. Some parts from a wrecked LS1, and the Lid from Ebay. As far as performance, I picked up 2 tenths in the quarter during the initial testing of the first design before the Engine went. Now I have a Performance Lid on it which is good for 10 more hp, so I am waiting to see what it can do.
IMO, this beats the crap out of any LT1 CAI cause:
There is no Elbow restricting any flow and it's shorter in length.
It picks up a ton of cold air off of the ground, it sits infront of the Radiator and all that air comes up off of the road.
And it has been proven that one of the LS1's strengths in the high-end is the Intake.
I got it to work, and I want to see what it does at the track. Last time, it suprised alot of people
As far as the paint job, I'll look like ****, so no one will steal it.

That's 2 tenths before the Lid, and when it was getting adjusted to the track. That was only the first run. I will be able to squeeze more out of it no problem. I am looking at a 2500 Stall with my MT Radials, so it will be real spicy for the spring racing season.

hey merv, can you take a picture of the bottom of the hood. Just curious on what it looks like. You need a nice glasstek or sunoco hood.

Merv I'm impressed you gained 10rwhp from this, fact is you made something work through experimentation and nothing tops that in my book, congrats Bro, good work! Everyone keeps mentioning a Sunoco hood...what the hell does it look like?
