Are LT1 cams hollow?

actually... that wouldn't mean anything. LT1 cams still have the "distributor gear" on the back of the cam like any SBC cam, although they don't have a distributor in the back, the gear is still in the block that drives the oil pump, but nothing going to a distributor.
an LT1 cam can be run in well, any year SBC... the only complicated part would be a timing set that would work with a cam button and still have to small bolt pattern for the "OE style" roller cam.
FWIW, my truck is about to receive a Comp #501 cam that came straight out of my car...

The cam bearings seized, and this cam was hollow.

The LT1 cam I bought off eBay was CNC milled, not cast like every other cam I've seen. I was very surprised. So I would say it's solid, besides the fact it was heavy like every other cam
