Default calculating DCR on LT1/LT4

Can anyone help me with calculating DCR on an LT1? I don't know much, if any of the vital info. I have flow #s, but no cc's on my GTP LT4 heads. Don't know bore, stroke, head gasket thickness, cylinder head chamber volume, etc...I'm trying out ideas for a custom cam. Car is actually an LT1, but with mods is more like an LT4 "clone" No undercut crankshaft, etc..I checked out the DCR calculator from Kelley, but can't download it. Thanks for any help.

If it's stock LT1..
Bore: 4.00"
Stroke: 3.48"
Head Gasket: Stock is .050"
LT4 Heads: 54.4cc
Pistons: -7cc
Deck Height: go with .025". They range from .016-.025

Thanks fellas. Merv-do you know Gasket Bore and Rod Length for stock LT1? I'm trying to calculate DCR for some custom grind ideas I'm throwing around. 226/232 .570/.580 112 LSA for example. Would you know what the duration @ .006 would be for that cam? How do I figure out the valve events?

The Gasket I use is a Felpro #1074. It's a .039" thickness, and 4.125 bore. Rods are 5.7", unless you are talking about Pushrods, and they are 7.2" I believe. Most of the Cams measurements are given at .050", so if you mean .060", duration is going to be the same, cause that is just how the Cam is cut.

How do I figure out the valve events from a cam of given duration?

Oh yeah, and duration at .006 is advertised duration. Can you find that given duration at .050?

you can use the gasket off the LT1 Impala. they are .029 thicknetss and will tighten up DCR. It has the equivilant of milling the block .010. It will also give you about 1/2 point on CR

No, you have to talk to the cam manufacturer AFAIK. Some have advertised duration at .004 as well, so make sure you get the right number. With that you can find out the true valve events and then use that to find DCR. If you can get the advertised numbers, this can calculate the valve events, SCR and DCR for you.

Another great calculator that allows you to compare up to 4 cams at once.
