Would help to know what rockers you're running. If they're too tall they might hit the valve cover. I've never heard of them being too short.

The ARP studs longer or something?? The poly locks that came with my Comp rockers work fine.

Both sets of arp studs I have are the stock length. I'd check those before the poly locks.

Keep in mind that the OE LT-1 studs have a built in "washer" that seats on the cylinder head when the studs are screwed in, and the ARP studs don't. The holes in the head that the studs screw into have heli-coil inserts. If you don't have that washer in place, you run the risk of jamming the stud's threads into the "tang" of the head's heli-coils before the studs fully seat....I know by experience.

Also, by not having that "washer" on the stud, if you screw it in all the way, it sinks into the head further, effectively making it shorter. This could cause problems.

Make sure that the inner set screw is backed way off. Tighten the adjusting nut until you have "zero lash", then go 1/8-1/4 turn more. Then, while firmly holding the adjusting nut still, tighten the set screw to 22 ft.lbs.
