Thats an option I never thought of for some reason.
We still prefer to go with the SBC heads, just for choices.

yeah brodix had to modify my heads to work with reverse flow cooling. then i also sent them my intake and headers to have them matched. but i think i payed some where around 2400 (not sure i will have to look for a reciept or something) for the heads when it was all said and done. but they also flow at 320cfm @ .600

The process involves welding shut old passages in the head and drilling new one's for reverse cooling. Im having a set converted in a couple of weeks for my 396... My biggest concern now is that my LT1 headers may not work correctly with the new heads.

CFM did ours and did a very good job.
FWIW keeping the reverse cooled LT1 block has some big advantages in terms of anti detonation. There's a reason that some of the best engine builders out there (look at the Jeg's engine masters challenge) convert conventional motors to reverse cooling. The only limitation with the LT1 block is strength in 1000+ hp applications and of course bore size compare to aftermarket blocks.
