What do you guys think of this..
It's an EBAY special, but it doesn't look that bad.

Im sorry Merv, but that thing looks like absolute JUNK.
Welds look shitty, and for $180 I wouldn't trust it as far as I could throw it.

You should look into the Yank Stealth 3000.
Thats what Im getting.

I would go with Yank, Fuddle, or Precision Industries(Vigilante) converters! You'll get your moneys worth with a warranty of some sort! Best get a good converter! 3000 plus stall or otherwise i wouldnt put one in it!

I want a 2500 area, that way it's still very streetable with my 3.73's.
I was just asking a opinion on it, it fits with the regular EBAY stuff..

I agree, the TC is not the place to be cuttin' corners.
Stick with the major brands and avoid later.

FWIW, I have a 3200 in my DD car (with 3.73s).
You rev it a little more in parking lots, but it's very streetable.
A must if you are installing a cam (moreso for larger than smaller).

Edge is different from Precision but both offer restalled 12" converters I would trust long before that Monster crap.

I suggest you get a ride or drive a car with a QUALITY 9.5" converter like an Edge, Yank, or Vigilante(Precision), those are almost always 2800+ stalls but the drivability will amaze you and they perform much better than 12" converters. 20lbs less rotation weight at crankshaft rpms is just a piece of why they perform much better.

I think you'd like a higher stall than 2500. One of my buddies drives his A4 with 4.10s and a 4400 stall lol. Granted that's more extreme, but go 3000+

You can tell how good the welds are from that one picture?
I don't know if I could trust it any further than I can throw it either...

Yeah, this is one of many places not to skimp...My 3600 Vig drives like a stocker until you nail it and then you'd better be hangin on to something! I've had my Vig since 1996! Its been absolutely flawless...remember its all part of a package: cam, converter, gears...these are areas that many people don't do the research on and it will cost you every time...Generally, you want your converter to stall 500-700 rpm below your torque peak...

Merv,

Here's what your gonna do.
1.) Your not going to buy some weak *** 2500 restalled stock converter they are junk.
2.) Your going to call Yank and get a minimum of a 3200 2.1 (SS3200)
3.) Your not gonna regret it. The driveability is fine, my dad who is in his 50's gets in my car and drives it and loves the stall.

And I think a 3200+ stall would be nasty with your setup and the 3:73's. So man up.

Yes I had a Midwest 2800 about two years ago and it cooked my tranny in 2 days.
