Default Hows your optima fit?

Well the yellow top that was in my car, im pretty sure is shot now. im gunna go get it tested 2morrow or wednesday, but when i went to remove it, it was a pain to get out i had to really pull on it and scrape it across the hood stop mount and yank more and more to get it to finally let loose. is that how they all fit? or is the red top a little smaller? because thats what i am gunna get next most likely.

There are two versions of the redtop, get the smaller redtop. I had tried to put the larger redtop in and well I didn't get it to fit, what your describing on pulling your battery sounds like when I was trying to put the larger red top in.

alright thank you, ill grab the normal verision i guess ud call it. the other is probably a truck version.

by the way other can get it tested is there any way to determine if a battery is bad or not? i pulled it and it still felt quite heavy if that makes a different but when its been cold the car wont start, just make the sound like its trying to turn over...except very very slow and eventually slows to just a click click click.

and recently when starting in the cold i have been gettin the battery gauge bouncing everywhere. so im thinkin i guess, maybe a bad cell or something. maybe its still covered by optima but ill have to check on that, im not sure how old it is.

Go with the group 34/78 Red Top. The 35/75 fits, but it is extremely tight. The difference in CCA and RC of the batteries is so minimal it won't make a difference.

As far as switching from a yellow top to a red top -- the yellow top is only designed for deep cycle/reserve capacity. If you aren't running an aftermarket amplifier with a stereo system then there really isn't much of a point. The life of the yellow top is usually less as well.

The red top is basically the way to go, and it won't hit you as hard in the wallet as the yellow top.

Need to do a diodes test on the battery to see if it is good.
