Edelbrock heads
They are a JOKE, on this forum someone from Edelbrock said that with some light porting at the factory they outflow AS CAST stock heads by 16cfm, he thought that was a good selling point. The rest of us with a clue took it as proof postive they are a JOKE. Think for a second what can stockers do with a slight port job?
That said flow numbers are not everything so let's dig deeper.
THEIR OWN PUBLISHED NUMBERS are under 400fwhp for the heads and cam package. There are A LOT of shops out there who can port stockers and sell you a cam and get you 370+RWhp even over 400 at the tires in some cases.
They claim a 74hp gain with heads/cam AND 1 3/4" headers swap and that is flywheel. I picked up more than that with just heads/intake and cam over an already cammed setup. My old zz3 cammed setup put down 290rwhp, pretty much everyone will agree that though I lack a dyno chart for the current setup it has to be in the 390+rwhp range, which would be like a 120+fwhp gain as I said over already cammed, the intake tract/TB exhaust all stayed identical.

I think they make good part for Gen 1 motors but GM left a lot less room for improvement with the LT1 so they are really struggling to make anything that is an upgrade.

Edlecrap makes a few good parts, such as intakes, WP's, and a select # of heads. There are cheaper but better Gen I parts out there to be had. I have built 100's of Gen I motors for people learning what parts work best for the money. Sorry to come off so negative on Edlebrock, but I have seen how their customer service handles things for warrenties.
