Mine topped out at about 145ish with the t-tops off and windows down, put the tops on and buried the speedo easily, I wanna say 160-165ish. In both cases it was nowhere near redline but no longer accelerating much if any. This was A4 and 2.73s just cat-back and CAI and at high altitude.

I took my old blown 94 Z28 up to 165 ONCE on a backroad and said I would never do it again. Things start going by in a HURRY at that speed and you never know what could happen or go wrong and if it does, you better be right with the Lord...

I should mention that a small animal did manage to run out in front of the car and it was instantly disentegrated. Fortunately it was something small but definitely an eye opener to how stupid you can get with these cars if your not careful.

I hit around 140mph in my old LT1 a4/2.73s and was about the **** my pantalones so I shut it down.

I've never even come close to that speed again after that in my Z28 or any other car.

How many of you guys with the T-tops had any problems with them going that fast? A friend of mine had one fly off at 145mph..

Well not a T-top flying off, but I had them off and was doing around 120 and my stupid brother sticks his arms straight up like in a roller coast and the wind smack his arms back against the roof, it was hilarious, his arms were all bruised the next day. I guess he didnt think the wind could push so hard.

Man Vendetta, I nearly crapped my pants when I read your Sig, hahaha that is awesome, but yea, I love Mirko Filipovic too, he is one bad dude

I would think it would be impossible for the T's to fly off if their locked in place.. but when their not locked in place they usually fly off at the top of 3rd gear for me. yes I did it twice, 1st time I some how caught the Ttop as it was ejecting, 2nd time i was racing a corvette and wasnt so lucky, well i won.. but lost both T's right in front of him and luckily they didnt hit anybody..

If you are talking about BONE stock LT1's down to the paper air filter, the regular Z28's and T/A's did 154. When the WS6 package was released, and the Camaro SS, they did about 160 MPH.

I started a thread a little while ago asking peoples top speeds they have had their cars to, and what their mods were. It should give you a good idea what speeds the F-body are capable of when modded> http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...ight=TOP+SPEED
