Iv got a 1993 Trans Am gt, black, high rise spoiler, black leather, ttops, m29 t56, 3.23 gears, 155 speedo, and z rated tires (now ws6 wheels). Also came with the 10 speaker stereo, not sure if it was monsoon, or if they even put the monsoon in the 1993's because i got it with no stereo.

WOW! A lot of half truths in this post.
I will only speak about 1996 Firebirds, since this is what I am intimately familiar with:
* the Hi-Rise (or Uplevel) spoiler was NOT an automatic on ANY Firebird model. It was option T43...and I believe it was a $325 option.
* whether one ordered the WS6 package or not, the spoiler was optional.
* the Formula (or low) spoiler was standard on ALL models
* while the WS6 package could be ordered on the Formula or Trans Am, when added to the convertible, you DID NOT get the suspension upgrades, or the 17" wheels (GM chose to use similar looking 16" wheels on these cars)
* the 1996 10-speaker radio was NOT called Monsoon - but for all practical purposes, was a "version" of the Monsoon. It utilized a small amplifier to drive the subwoofers, but DID NOT amplify the other 8 speakers. These were driven by the H/U. Because of this, some feel the subwoofers were more powerful in the 1996 cars than later years - but this is up for debate, as I have heard both. Neither sounds louder than the other to me.
* 96 and 97 WS6 cars were modified by SLP Engineering (which has since been sold) in Canada. They were based in Toms River, NJ. SLP Performance now runs the business, and has some of the records from the now defunct SLP Eng.
* The standard ring/pinion was 3.42 in the 6-speed. The "performance" upgrade (?) got you a 3.23 gear. Why GM chose to call this an upgrade is beyond me. Perhaps this is why almost no one ordered it.
* And finally, chrome 17" wheels were NOT available on WS6 cars (only silver was available). Neither was traction control for that matter. The chrome wheels appeared as an option in 1997.
Hope this clears things up...

Required? Hmmm...Maybe...but I do know I was charged for it. Since I was set on getting it, I'm not sure what would have happened if I asked for the standard one.
And yes...3.23 was standard on the automatics. ( I stand corrected - it was not standard) I don't recall if you had any "performance" option on the autos. Been too many years since I ordered my 1996.
Funny story...when I placed the order for mine in Sept. 1995, I had to fight with the dealer. He refused to believe Pontiac was making a WS6 car...even though I came prepared with all of the ordering numbers. It was after 30 minutes of "heated" conversation, and several phone calls to GM that he agreed to place my order. He even tried to sell me a blue(? I think it was blue) car, even though I knew WS6 cars only came in red, white, black, and silver. Big dummy...

I'm guessing the Z rated tires were probably mandatory as well. I've never seen a WS6 car that didn't have the 155mph speedo.
they were available in green as well as red white black and silver.

Yeah i never understood why the 3.23 was a performance option, and why the hell anyone would order it unless they had the m29 t56 like me, wich means the gearing is lower and highway speeds need a smaller rear gear. I'm at 2000rpm at 70mph. I'm still doing 3.73"s wich im told by a very reputable source will feeel just like 4.10's in an m28 t56 car (1994 and up).
Also, i have the 10 speaker stereo, wich i guess is premium sound. Do i have an amp then? Where would it be? In the quarter somewhere?

the amp i think is in one of the speaker covers by the rear seat. i've never had mine off so i'm not sure on that one. From what i heard yes 3:23's were a gear ratio used on 1993 only T56's.
I had a friend in FL with a red 93 Trans Am with beige leather and the GT wing. From what i remember reading somewhere, ALL 1993 trans ams were GT's with the raised wing and then in 94 they split the model into the base trans am and GT and only the GT got the uplevel wing. not sure about leather but i think it was avilable in both and maybe standard on the GT. Then in 95 they dropped the GT option and just made all the options seperate. My car if it were a 94 would probably be a GT since its got the uplevel wing, the performance 3:23 axle, 10 speaker system, and leather. i think the only 2 options i didn't get were a CD player and Traction control.
