Default LT1 X-PIPE TSP vs. Custom

I want to switch to and x pipe whats my best bet

TSP x-pipe for the ls1 Which I am wondering is there any modifications I have to make to fit it to an lt1 with pacesetter long tubes???

Or should I just make my own system with summit x-pipe and chambers

The pipe that goes into the driveside header wil not fit for sure, it can be fixed by and exhaust shop. Most shops can make a set-up for you, X pipes are not hard. the hard part is making sure they FIT under the car and dont hang down 4" from the body.

I was quoted $800 for a custom system and I had the parts already

Its probly a $400-500 job for a normal shop.

I know its not an F-Body, but here is the X I have on my Caprice, Its a Hedmann X and I already had the Flowmasters and it cost me about $225 for the guy to make the exhaust from the cat back. It took him about 3 hours to bend and make. He was pretty **** about it.

I have the LS1 X-pipe setup on my LT1. As it comes, like said above, the driver side parts are not intended to match up with LT1 headers. I drove mine open headers to an exhaust shop and had them weld all the pieces together and had them make me a piece for it to work on the LT1. I got it all done for like $20.00 cause it wasn't much really, AND, I gave the guy the 6 exhaust band clamps that I wouldn't need since its welded. Anway, You will end up not using an elbow piece that comes with the kit, rearranging the way it goes together, and adding a straight piece into the mix. I've circled the piece they made for me. Its a 3" setup all the way through and with mandrel bends. Something to think about if your going to have a setup custom made is that you'll probably get compression bends at your typical local exhaust shop. Eh, maybe you dont care. I'm not sure of the loss if any.

Hey Erik, what kind of ground clearance do you have with that setup?
