Well, I bought the car like this (and this was one of the reasons I got a '99 Trans Am for only $6800) but he gave me the parts to fix it so I figured I only had to pay labor finding out later that it wasn't for the posi rear end with traction control and I needed more than "just" the spider gears that he claimed

Well, that's a good time to throw in some Gears then..
I think mine came in today, so that's goin back together.

You mean the Rear, or the Tranny? $750 is high for a Rear, unless you are getting it totally re-done. I am eventually going to a Moser 9" when I drop in my 408ci L92.
