Default Which valve springs?

Hello, Im looking at getting a cc503 cam with 1.6RR and I was wondering which valve springs to get. Will the Comp dual coil springs work? I was also wondreing about retainers, should I get steel or titanium? Im not going to be turning it over 6500 rpm's. Does any body sell a kit that reasonable? Thanks

26918 is the part number from Comp. Those with steel retainers will be much better than duals with Ti. retainers.

So were is the cheapest place to get some 918's and steel retainers? Will I need shims and spring cups? Also what are the best priced 1.6RR? Should I get SA or NSA, if I get NSA I will have to get guide plates right? What are some good reasonable push rods?

Comp Promag 1.6 NSA rockers, ARP 7/16 rocker arm studs, Trickflow Chromoly pushrods (same exact pushrods and made by the same place as the comp hi-techs but $60 cheaper), and GMPP guideplates, and of course the cam, 918 springs, seats, retainers, locks, and a new timing chain.

Ok so do i need to get stock length 7.200in. push rods? Do the retainers need to be 7 degree or 10 degree? Does any one have the part # for the steel retainers, locks and seats? What timing chain would you guys recommend? Do I need a new cam gear and crank gear when I put a new timing chain on? Thanks

If all you're doing is a cam, then you should be fine with the stock length. The retainers need to match your locks. Since you're doing this with stock heads and valves, get the 10 degree retainers and 10 degree +.050" locks to get the proper install height.

The timing set is just that, a set. It needs to be replaced as a set, gears and chain need to match. If you want to go with an electric water pump, then get the Cloyes Double Roller. If you want to keep the stock wp, get a LT4 ed timing set. Search around for part numbers. I think Crane makes the LT4 ed, not sure though. You can usually find a good bit of everything in the for sale section here and on camaroz28.com. Good luck.

Could you? Probably.

Would I or anyone here recommend that? No

That's most likely a stock replacement chain and not up to snuff for increased hp and rpm that you'll be subjecting it to with that cam.
