Default Opinions about comp cams 986 springs please!

Hey everyone,

Questions about comp cams 986 springs.

I'm just wondering what is the max lift on these springs.

Will they work with the LT1 heads without modification?

I'm planning on doing a 1.6 RR upgrade now and then a cam (possible cc305) in the future. Will they work for this?

Anyone run this cam and have opinions about it?

Thanks alot.

Go with beehive 26918's. They'll save you trouble and make more hp in the future.

Apparantly these springs require some machining of the heads as well.

I have the 918 springs with the cc305 112 LSA and I like it. Its no GM847 or Joe Overton cam, but for extra streetable power it is exactly what I want

I'd recommend the cc503 over the 305, but there are plenty of cam choices out there.
