Default 160 degree hypertech stat and jet fan switch?

Is there any reason not to, or any downfalls to running the 160 degree thermostat in a 1995 trans am?

I just installed the jet fan switch which turns the fan on at 195 degree's. and off at 185. so now the engine doesn't get as hot while idliling. But I want the car to run cool as possible and not overheat in really hot weather or traffic. so I am going to be installing the 160 degree thermostate from hypertech, unless there is any reason not to?

I have the hypertech 160 t-stat and the SLP fan switch and my car runs at 170 all day long even in the summer. your car will love the lower temp.

I would try to get the fans on at 170 if you can the SLP I have lets me turn the fans on when I want or I can put it on auto.
