comp cams
comp cams which comp cam would be better for me the 502 or 305... i only have flowmasters with cutout, cai, pcm4less tune... i kno i wont get a lot of power because i dont have headers but i really dont want to put headers on my car for reliability factors and my trans has to many miles to put a stall... what else will i need to go with the cam i kno ill need some roller rockers and springs what about rods.. im figuring around 800 dollars with installation and all the parts.. i just drive the car around town and i dont go to the strip any

Just got the crane 227 installed yesterday along with some mild heads. Cant say a whole lot right now, as it isnt tuned yet. But my midrange is night and day difference over stock, cant wait until I can get a tune on it.

I did all the supporting mods first, I.E.
full exhaust, CAI, stall converter, pulley, EWP, free mods.

Verdad Gallardo well i called one of the crane techs and he said the crane 227 was a great cam to get.. he also said to get valve springs and retainer kit, hydraulic roller lifters, crane gold race extruded rocker arm kit.. all that is 1200 dollars.. he said i didnt need a stall or headers to make pretty decent power with the things above.. i already have pcm4less tune, flowmaster with cutout and moroso cai.. so with the cam kit that cost 1200 dollars do you think ill get around 50 more hp to the wheels

yeah he was trying to sell you the farm. for your intended application you don't need all that. i think you would be fine with just the cam and use whatever left over money for another tune after you get it.

You dont exactly NEED all that, but yes it would compliment the cam much better. I would at minumum look into, springs/retainers/locks = @ 250$.
The 1.6 RR will give you more lift, which is good.
Well with mild heads and this cam and 1.6 RR I am hoping for 50 RWHP, IMO 50 with just a cam is a lil optimistic, but GL.
he was the sayin the 1.6 rr would give me around 20 more hp and im not sure how much the cam would.. so your saying i would be fine with just the cam and springs.. this will probably be my last performance mod im going to do.. i want it to last for awhile.. ill probably get torque arm and rca relocation brackets after i do all of this for alittle better traction.. and my tires are almost bald so im going to be spending around 500 or 600 for a set of bfgoodrich g force sport 275 40 17.. i just love spending all my money

How many miles are on your car?
Have you looked into the lt4 hotcam? That seems to a good plan for you, seems you are on a budget. Also comes with everything you need, besides lifters and pushrods. Which if yours are in good shape you can just reuse them.
Hopefully someone else can chime in, as I am no pro at this.
