Default 383 stroker ?

Ok i have a 1995 lt1 formula with 164,xxx miles and i am gonna rebuild it over the summer, thinking about going 383 stroker with this ebay kit thats 1200$, aside from that what would i need for 450whp motor? basically wat heads and cam for the 383 stroker....cheaper is better but not necessary...btw my car already has a DRY NOS 150 shot that i would like to add to that setup after its built, looking for mid to high 11's on motor, and high 10's on the juice...

all depends on how much you want to spend, forge and stroke your bottom end and throw the 150 shot on top of that, you could esialy make 500 plus to the crank. to do 11's all motor you would need a good set of heads and cam. i have a 383 stroker lt1, with ported and polished heads, lt4 cam 1.6 rrs and i dont think i can make it to 11s, im hoping though. remember its all about how much money you spend

Dont plan on doing anything cheap that will bite you in the *** in the long run. Save your money do it right, and dont cut any corners, because you will without a doubt regret it. You have a lot of miles on your tranny so you are going to need to rebuild it too, because adding that much horespower will definetly do it in, that goes for your rearend also. So plan on spending some money, and buy the best **** you can.

speaking money wise, with the cheapest stroker build, basically stock top end, you would probably put down around 550. it just depends on how much money you want to spend

you have to get that power to the ground to get in the 11's or better yet 10's. it doesn't take 600 hp to do so. dialed in suspension, rear end, transmission and sticky tires are a great investment. do you want your car to still be a daily driver is also a question to ask yourself. how wild/mild you want the motor to be is another question. you could use a badass set of heads and cam, everyone is going to tell you that Advanced Induction or Lloyd Elliot are good and everyone else doing headwork is junk. i think AI had like a $1500 deal going, tell them what you want to do, send them your heads, they work them over and give you a matching cam. slap those on a forged bottom end and spray spray spray, and spin spin spin the tires if your not dialed in out back. good luck!

like lt1man said, lloyd elliot or ai have great combos that can almost get your to 450whp on just that, without stroking it. if your looking to spray i would do a 355 forged internals and a good set of heads and cam, i would not go for afr or other brand name heads, they are good but pricey, your better off with lloyd or ai

he only sells topend kits, to do the 355 you would have to take it to a machine shop
