help with my lt1!!!
Okay i am trying like ***** to get my 94 lt1 trans am up and running, i bought the car and immediately starting modding and doing a front end conversion, well while i had my hood off one night it rained thus ruining my opti, I just finished putting in a new opti, mezeier electric water pump, msd blaster coil. I also have pacesetter LT's/ory/borla on it. Now the first time i started it up it went fine, but then it wouldn't throttle, i would push on the gas and the car sounded like it would rev but the rpm's wouldnt go up. I brought the battery to autozone and had it charged and checked and the battery is still good. Now after that i went to start it up and the same thing happened, then after i shut it off it wont restart, it clicks but wont turn over, then after a few tries the power wont even turn the car on. I cant for the life of me figure it out. Im wondering if its the fuel pump (new filter BTW) or O2 sensor? I also have new plugs and new OTVC wires installed.

okay i get it to start up and run, but now its acting like there is not much fuel going to the engine, when i press on the gas the engine revs but the rpm gauge doesn't move and it seems to be real sluggish. IS there something wrong with my fuel system? Fuel pump or 02 sensor?

If you have a hunch its fuel get a fuel gauge and see if your pump died. Thats what I did when my car had your symptoms, i said the hell with it and threw the 20 or so dollars down for the gauge which clearly shows a bad pump. Just don't start guessing whats wrong and replacing parts it will be cheaper just to start the fuel gauge.

Short version... fuel pump.
when my my opti died my car sputtered sputtered and then died and refused to fire. However with a fuel pump on the outs, the engine still might fire but will be sluggish. Try spraying start fluid in the intake and see if it perks up. if it does then the problem is in your fuel, but i would still get the fuel gauge to get irrefutable gauge evidence (heh) that the pump is bad.
Long version...
I was driving my car all day 60+ and then as I am about to get off a ramp sumve bitch starts to the whole sputtering thing and even when i floored it didn't want to move. Then when I shut it off and tried a restart it did not fire until like the 5th try. The next day it took me 15 mins to fire and it was very sluggish but I manged to wobble to work...
Then I bought 20 dollar gauge and it showed fuel system had a wopping 10 psi and it did perk up with start fluid. Which then narrowed it down to Fuel Filter, Fuel regulator, and da fuel pump. Changed the fuel filter nothing... then i talked to guys at Detroit Speed Shop and they said the fuel pump has a tendency to fail before the regulator. So 143 dollars, 30 mins, and a hole in my trunk later my car worked again.

my father in law suggested that maybe the timing was off, as in the notches on the opti didnt match up when i put it on, but i have a 94 and it will only go on one way right? Otherwise it wont fit, but maybe im off by a notch or two?

'94 has the small spline opti...it has been put on wrong before by others (just to exhonorate myself...not me - I've done three of them...all successfully - knock on wood.)
