Default Can I RTV the throttle body?

Ok today I decided to put on my new 52mm TB. Ran into a problem after I tore the stocker apart...no auto parts stores here have the gasket for the bottom plate that holds the IAC. I bought the "kit" they had at autozone that I thought had all the gaskets but I was wrong. So now I'm trying to put the bottom plate from the stocker on the 52 but I have no gasket and I'm almost positive the dealership will have to order it. I need it together now though! Do you think I can RTV the bottom plate to the new 52mm TB?

Well, if they are generally the same as my 93 (since the TB on newers changed a bit), it's not used really anymore if you did the coolant bypass. Just make sure that it doesn't get into the IAC passages and get inside the motor or clog something up.

You can always just goto the local parts store and buy a sheet of gasket material and make your own. I had to do that on my old army jeep's carb. A hole-punch would probably work awesome for the bolt holes, I just thought of that. This is what I'd do, instead of using RTV.

That's what I made it out of, didn't cut anything out for the Coolant passage.

So if I cut my own gasket I can just cut the basic shaped piece and stick it in there? I won't have to cut out the little holes and everything like in the regular gasket thats supposed to be in there? Understood I'll need bolt holes but I won't need the other stuff? I also have the throttle body bypass.

Just cut out the area for the IAC Sensor, don't worry about the Coolant passage.

This is what Merv means. I don't know if yours looks like this, but you should get the idea. You'll want to make the holes for the bolts though.
