All things being equal, whats a decent estimation of hp gain when going from 350 to 383?

Approximately 0 hp give or take 1-2 hp.

i would think that you would gain more pwoer. Your increasing C.I. and increasing flow a hell of alot. Now how much power over stock you would gain im not sure of.

You are increasing average flow but unless the heads are ported or the cam swapped peak flow stays exactly the same and you don't make any more power.

With my experience with my 383 build I make power/torque with less cam and at lower rpms than my 350 (355) counterparts...Thats just a general statement, but I run stock ported LT1 heads with 2.00/1.56s and a 226/234 cam...I make peak power at 6300rpms and run a 3600 stall/3.73s...Most of the time to run what I run with a 350 set up, its got more cam and consequently moves power and torque farther up the rpm scale, requiring more gear/converter...383s tend to make more power/torque under the curve at lower rpms...Not spinning this thing to the moon has surely helped my motor last for 12 years, not to mention having a big time bullet proof bottom end with a Callies crank, Oliver billet steel 5.85" rods, and JE pistons...Just my .02...

On a local Mustang Dyno it made 385/375 thru my old Borla cat back... I've since added 3" TDs and ax X pipe and haven't been back to the dyno yet...My sig times/mph were made with the 385/375 numbers...But I've out mph'd people with dyno sheets claiming 420 rwhp, so I don't hold a whole lot of faith in dyno numbers...I just use them to get my tune right...

If you took an engine setup thats 355 cubic inches and then kept the same cam, same heads same everything, just put in the stroker crank and appropriate pistons. It would feel as if you had put in gears and a stall.
