Default need radiator

Any recommendations for a radiator? Um if I don't hear anything too quickly well I'm going to order one from the dealership. I already tried my luck with one from autozone, well it was a china POS, def. would never have circulated the coolant.

Any place online sell the factory OEM piece cheaper than a dealership, or is this one of those weird parts that happen to be cheap? (I think my new fuel lines with all new shielding were $35, but the plastic part on the side of the seat is $65) Yeah pricing is weird, wondering if I'm in for a shock. Well I am going to get a new coolant level sensor also while I'm in there, I already know thats around $62.

My radiator cracked on the plastic side part of it, up near the top on the pass. side.

Summit and other on-line companies also sell replacement radiators.
If you buy a used radiator, I would recommend having it flushed and cleaned prior to installation.

My issue with just trying my luck there is does it meat OEM standards? I was hoping for recommendations as to where I could get a new factory one cheaper than from a dealership, or a aftermarket one that works well. Well I know the Be Cool one is $500, thats out of the question.

I wasn't very happy at all when I pulled the one from autozone out of the box.

GMPartsdirect.com

52466004 Radiator $167.77 + $36.91 shipping = $204.68

10096163 Coolant level sensor $29.34 + $9.95 shipping = $39.29

Total: $243.97

I think the PN on that coolant level sensor is correct but I know the PN on the radiator is. Summit doesn't have those numbers in their catalog but I think you could call them and they could have them ordered as they are a GM dealer as well.

Damn, I'm going to have to remember gmpartsdirect.com next time. I ordered them through the dealership, it is going to run me a little over $300 for both parts.

Alright I am really perplexed. So when I went to order it the other day they said there was no difference, they only had one for both auto's and 6 speeds. Ah um ok fine. So on the dead one I pulled off my car I never even had the holes for the tranny lines. On the lower port of the radiator it is completely open. On the POS china one I took back and on the one from GM there is metal in there????? Maybe I'm radiator stupid, how does coolant get into the radiator there?? I just don't like how that looks, its completely open on my stock one I pulled out, so of course I'm wondering, will it still cool the same?? HELP!!! I guess I don't know **** about radiators.

Its $500 isn't it?

Well the factory one is working great, I'm suprised it still cools as well as the original I pulled out, as there is now the junk in there for the auto trans cars......
The dealership claimed they didn't list different part numbers for the A4 and M6 cars, well the very last digit is different on my original from the new OEM one I put in today.

Yea it is but it gets the job done and your car wont even know what 210 degrees is if you get one , i also agree with the above comment bout the 160 T-stat

There are different PNs for the A4 and M6 cars' radiators. As you've already stated, the M6 radiator doesn't have trans line provisions. Also, if all cooling system components are working properly, then a stock radiator is more than adequate for cooling the LT1.

Yea, I re-routed the Tranny Lines to an external cooler, and the Radiator works very well. I just have to mess with the Fans when I drop in that 402, I am only going to use 1 instead of the 2. I have no AC, so that helps out.

Ah yeah, I ordered the radiator last week, and finished everything up last night. Why I would need a be cool radiator is beyond me, the stock one with my 170 thermostat well sits at 170 when I'm in motion, hardly tries to get higher than 180 at a light and if it does I flip my switch for my fans.
So yeah........ My cooling system must be operating fine.

All you need is one Fan set to high on it anyways, it works for mine. I have the 2 set at low, and it sits at about 185-190. One Fan on high keeps it at 180.

Yeah mine is getting hot in traffic right now so I think I have to trace down the culprit with a voltmeter and maybe double check my fan settings in the PCM. There's no doubt in my mind that I can have a cool running car with a stock radiator once I find out what's not working.

Doesn't anyone pay attention, its like $10 to wire up your own fan switch. Sorry if I sound like a jackass as I say this, but its very easy to do and well worth the 30 minutes it would take you.
