My car has a CC306 cam/stock heads/30# injectors/underdrive pullies/slp shorty headers and y pipe/high flow cat/single 3 inch flowmaster/3.70 gears/electric water pump/manual steering/AC delete/smog and EGR delete/mail order tune.

i think that the tune is a major issue. the car runs rich and needs a converter bad. I cant put long tubes on there bc they come out right at the transmission and there is nowhere to run the pipes. It has a built 700r4. i would have figured that i could have smoked the mustang. the mustang has heads cam and intake and got beat by my friends sti that ran 12.8@105.9. Oh yea and my car wont burnout. It doesnt spin tires at all and has futuras on it. I have not had time for a dyno tune yet. I just got it running. It doesnt misfire at all.

most of the thirdgen LT's work just fine, you either have to make a y-pipe or do a custom X or H pipe setup. Should work with a 700r4, I know when I had my old engine in they wouldn't work because the collector ended up right where the fork came out the side of the T5 bellhousing. Lots of autos running them though. Sounds like you need to do some datalogging and send a copy of your log back to your mail order tune company and have them do some reprogramming.

I had hedman long tubes for a third gen and the collectors came out about three inches in front of the sides of the tranny pan. and it does still have the stock converter. the transmission is not slipping. It will burnout if i powerbrake it but it acts funny the RPMs are all over the place. Up then back down, then back up, then back down. It also has a low rpm hesitation. I think it may just need a tune and a converter. how big of a converter will i need. I have a cc306.

There's been no mention of what year/type of Mustang you raced..
A 1990 Coupe LX is a VERY light car...some careful (stealth) weight
reduction and he's under 3000 lbs... hiding a stroker crank and gears-easy
and not expensive.
My El Cheapo E.T. calculator is telling me 3100lbs and 350 flywheel
horsepower gives him a 12 second ET potential... do you know this
driver/car?? a 347 and gears with weight management could do this
in a lightweight LX.

the kid that has the mustang is my friend mike. The car has and edelbrock heads and intake package and a F 303 cam. stock bottom end. It is a 93 gt and he got beat by my friends sti that ran 12.86 with a 1.70 60'. So i am pretty sure the car runs low 13s. I have looked at hookers but they were so much more expensive and i couldnt afford them.
