You'll need a longer driveshaft with a short tailshaft.

I have a th350 in two LT1, a Impala and T/A. The Impala has 4.56's out back and is more or less a track only car, but it does have a gearvendors unit as well. The T/A has 3.23's and is drive 2-3 times a week. Its not bad and your always in the powerband. Both trannys are manual valve bodies so that adds to the fun! The fitzal kit works great, but you have to weld the 40 tooth vss sensor to the tailshaft before the install. It pretty much bolts right up, same driveshaft, crossmember, mount, even dipstick if your inclined to bend it. I went thru 4l60's almost yearly then spent $900 buck on a race built th350 vs $1600 on a 4l60, if you really want OD pickup a gearvendors unit off ebay for $1200 then you have a automatic 6 speed!
