Default Who has a Th350?

Going PMed a guy about, have money in my hand just waiting for a adress to go get it.

Anyways, recently rebuilt with heavy duty clutch packs and a shift kit...what is needed for it to bolt up to a LT1?

I see the conversion for LS1s but not LT1s really...never looked into it

Dont really see why it wouldnt be streetable at all..

The TH350 if the car isnt geared crazy is fine around town, fun to rip on, kinda sucks on the high way though. Also a lot have done the conversion on LT1s, more than you think. People were doing the conversions before the LS1s were out.

If you build it right, it will hold up and go in without a hitch. You should have it built with a Tekpak-Fitzall switch kit. This will allow you to use your 4L60 tailshaft by using a 1 3/4" alluminum spacer. This allows you to use the stock crossmember, stock torque arm mount, stock length driveshaft, and stock speedo sensor. The kit comes with a spacer and hardware, and a longer output shaft. You have to put the output shaft in during a rebuild though.

Otherwise you would need a 9" tailshaft on your TH350 to allow use of the stock length driveshaft. But you would still need a modified crossmember.

I mean it should be fine with a 3.73 gear and 65mph on the highway?

Dont really see a huge problem.....

a good way to see what you will be doing with no overdrive is to drive around in 3rd gear for a4 or 4th gear m6, keep in mind they are locked up, so if you go unlocked converter your rpms will be a little higher depending on stall

3rd gear in the th350 is just 1.00, same as 4th in a m6 and 3rd in the 4l60e.

thats pretty much what i said.

and lower numerical gears would definitly help streetability but will cost you a little at the track

Well a th-350 tranny i should retain fair streetability because of me having a turbo car and longer gears (in the rear end).

I would use a 3.08 gear for street. If I go 9" I'm going to use a 3.00 and if I do 12 bolt I'm gonna use 3.08. That way it'll be about 2500 at 65 mph.

So should I just leave in the 2.73?

Well you'll have the ultimate highway gear for a 3 speed auto. From what I have read, people with the A3 and the high gears are not really suffering any performance loss.
