Default d-port heads, gen 1 headers

i need headers for my alum head lt1. problem is its going in my 86 monte so headers made for my car have the gen 1 circle shaped exhaust ports. there are tons of these swaps, so what are people doing?

i think theyre using the gen I headers, but I think I looked at this once b4 and they didnt quite match up right, but will bolt up. Ill be in the same boat when I LT1 my chevy p/u. Let me know what you find out.

That's when you build your own headers. That's what we did when we put a 454 in an S10. Only like 3 people had done it before, so there wasn't a market. They were one hell of an abomination, I tell you what lol

you could always try midlengths, they'll probably work on most anything.

I am running round port midlength headers, I bought them before I ever dreamed of the car performing the way it does today. I am concerned it is a bit of a hinderance but all in all is working pretty well given the performance I have.

cool. so you say for a pretty mild build round ports would be ok? im curious tho, why the round ports in your caprice? dont they make d port caprice headers?

I was trying to save a buck. The b-body has limited header selection and all the good stuff is hand built and pricey.

im running gen 1 headers on the LT1 in my thirdgen. they are working fantastic.
