The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
DOHC means dual over head camshaft
a sohc is single overhead cam meaning two cams, 16 valves( you know, they are v8's)
and a dohc is a double overhead cam obviously meaning they have four cams with 32 valves
come on its not rocket science

2 cams does not equal more power
4 valves per cylinder does not necessarily mean more power either... just remember even the Cobra motors are down over a liter of displacement and make similar to the lt1 in power.
Some of it is factual, but there must be a slew of Cobra owners that dont have a clue how to drive.
Most experienced 03/04 drivers are running well into the 11s with bolt ons, some have gotten into the 10s @ 126+.
The 01 made its advertised power, usually dynoing 270+.
The mach ones are very similar to the 01 Cobra, but usully run a couple tenths better due to better flowing heads.
Full bolt on Zs seem to be running mid to low 13s at 105-106. Full bolt on Cobras (non supercharged) are running mid to low 12s @ 108-112.
These are local times of cars that I have witnessed or driven at the track, not what i have read about or seen posted.
sohc=1
A sohc v8 has 2 cams
A DOHC v8 has 4 cams

As for the Mustang GTs stock Fox's are Fairly slow usually running mid14s stock (although some of the earlier speed density LX coupes run high 13s @ 100-102 stock), 94-95 5.0 gts are snails (15.0), 96-98 4.6 gts are slugs (14.7-15.0), The 99-04s stock for stock are pretty even with an lt1, most run low 14s high 13s @98-100 (pretty much what I have seen with lt1s). They dont respond to well to minor boltons like the lt1 though.
Note:all time that I am listing are from 5 speed stangs, for a 87-95 auto, add a full second to the time, the AOD cars had a very sh*tty converter and a 2.4X first gear. The 96-04 autos with the 4R70W waer usually within a couple tenths of a 5 speed car.
I dont have much experience with the 05 or newer, and dont really care to (they are heavy pigs).
The only experience that I personnaly have is smoking one at a couple of street lights in a mostly stock 04 GT (4.10s, drag radials, H-pipe, predator), that consistantly ran 13.4s.
Sorry for the long post, But I had to add a little unbiased knowledge into the mix. I have owned quite a few F-Bodies in the past and am currently in the proscess of building a healthy LT1.

So you're claiming the folks here are lying about their times? If a full bolt on Z is only running mid to low 13s, something is wrong. High altitude, bad tune, I dunno. Running 13.8 STOCK and only getting low 13s with full bolt on is the worst investment ever. I would put a full bolt on FBody @ mid 12s with that setup. Again, conditions apply, so I'm just giving 1500ft above sea level as the avg. You run @ 5000+ and sure that mid-low 13 sounds more realistic.
