thats just my .02
4 bolt main block, RR's,better crank, more compression, better heads,a cool red intake
Here is one place we debated it and even Ed Wright agrees with me that on a 350ci motor held below 7200 LT4s are not the right choice.
Now I do not want to sound like I am taking a shot at Ed's accomplishments with his car but with guys like Rick Abare running basically the same times with ported LT1 castings and Mike Harris BRACKET racing his Impala at 10.8 NA both of these guys with AI 200 CC LT1 castings I have to question how much better the LT4s are even on a stroker. Ed's 9.9 is clearly impressive I am not trying to take anything away from his accomplishment, I just think it very interesting one of his customers is running about the same times with LT1 castings.
You people need to drop the bench racing once in awhile and observe reality. Reality is the guys who try to go fast with LT1 castings do go fast, fast enough that those who jump on the LT4/aftermarket bandwagon need to scratch their head a little and rethink their combos.
I am not talking dyno numbers or flow numbers look at real ET/MPH for street cars especially.
This is like the whole AFR thing people say how great something is based on marketing more than anything else, look for results. Ported LT1 castings have to make you take notice when looking at actual performance numbers.

430 rwhp (after correcting a high rpm miss...opti)...this is from a port matched set of lt4 heads...gm847...383
There is a guy on the Impala board who with a 150 shot on his XFI cammed(230/236) ported LT4 setup has equalled my best NA MPH and is slightly behind in ET. His heads flow more than mine and he runs more stall.
The XFI ginds are another example of what is supposed to be the "best" but it is all theory and little to nothing to back it up.
