Default Exhaust question

Hi fellow 4th geners

I am a newbie here, i am from Iceland and have a Trans Am GT "94 and wondering what to buy in exhaust and headers.

The car is almost original. It has a hot cam, K&N intake.

What do you think of Pacesetter headers long tube, Pacesetter Y pipe and the Hooker Super cometition Cat-Back exhoust system?

I am looking at this from Summitracing.

I had that same exhaust setup a while back. I put cats on it some time after the install, so I know what it sounds like with and without cats. That being said, it didn't sound any different with the cats... just in case you wanted to know. The hooker catback is really quite at idle, really quiet. My stock engine was louder than the exhaust. It's monotone; doesn't have many different tones to it like my slp loudmouth. It's flows just as well as the other catbacks. You notice I'm only talking about the hooker catback. That's because you can go wrong with the pacesetter headers

I would go with Kook's custom headers they are the best.

What setup would you recomend instead ? i am looking for HP gain and ofcourse the sound

as for exhaust go wit which ever is in ur budget if you got some cash go wit the gmmg or borla. Dnt put flowmasters on ur car tho

Ya, I will find out soon because that is what is going on my car. Right now I have JBA mid headers with the SLP LM, now I am going to put on the Kook's 1 3/4 step into 1 7/8 LT It is going to **** some people off. Like the cops

Pace Setters are great for an everyday street car or a weekend warrior. If you wanna spend the money, Kooks are among the best. I have Pace Setters and i could ask for more out of a low budget header. Some good gaskets and stage 8 bolts and you wont find a leak on mine. Cat backs are about the same all across. Some show a +4 or -4 HP difference on a stock motor so its more or like what sound you like the best. I made my highest number with a 3" PS Y into a 3" mandrel bent I and OTA pipe into a 1-in-1-out Flowmaster 40 series. They are not funk like the Crossflow 80 series.

With LTs, 3" Y & I pipe and the 40 series, UD pullies, MSD wires, and a CAI i made 304-336rwhp @ Tulsa DynoJet. Stock Tune.

I wasn't necessarily knocking on the hooker. It's cheap and sounds good. I just stepped up to the SLP Loudmouth because I wanted something really loud and obnoxious. Now I get, "it sounds like a racecar," yet it's only a bolt on lt1. Just pick what sounds good to you at www.ls1sounds.com

If you have the money, the GMMG sounds great.

I'm using flowmaster piping and running a bullet over the axle, I think this also sounds great.

Do the Pacesetter 1 3/4 long tubes

3inch Y-pipe, 3inch pipe over the axle

And a borla XR1 muffler in the rear with dump off the muffler. It will have a nice deep tone to it at ilde and scream at WOT.
