What oil is in your LT1

Wall mart. LOL There hypertech or whatever stuff. Been using it in all my cars, I've had 2 motors with it run through them with about 4k and the bearings are mint. I tryed there walmart full synthetic last time I changed it. 10-40 BTW
It's cheap and it works good for me so I'll keep on using it!
Edit: One of these I'm going to send it in to an oil analyst place after 3k and I'll post up the results.

If you read the owners manual 10w-30 is acceptable long as it is above 0F and overseas they recommended 15w-40 in the LT1. North American oil weight recommendations are driven by CAFE(corporate Average Fuel Economy) not by what works best.
10w-30 is NOT necessarily thicker than 5w-30 at operating tempature, matter of fact German Castrol 0w-30 is thicker than M1 5w-30 which is thicker than M1 10w-30, bet that throws everything you thought you knew right out the window.
M1 5w-30 and 10w-30 has been solidly shown to result in higher iron wear in LT1s and LS1s for that matter than other options at and below the same price.

I have the valvoline max life 10w-40 running right now and I am overall pleased with it. the engine runs very nice at 162K and I plan on keeping it that way.
another note I now put in 5.5 quarts in my car compared to just 5 and I have noticed a large gain in pressure.
