It's cheap and it works good for me so I'll keep on using it!

Edit: One of these I'm going to send it in to an oil analyst place after 3k and I'll post up the results.
SuperTech It's actually a pretty decent oil

You didn't list Mobil One the factory fill for corvettes. I still use 5w-30 M1

Any semi-synthetic 5w - 30, my LT1 had 75k on it when I bought it.

Is the "Vette factory fill" the only thing you base that choice on??

Has to be because UOA says you are making a mediocre choice at a top shelf price.

Recently saw a dyno test for royal purple vs regular oil on HorsepowerTV. Motor got 8hp more with royal purple, and that wasn't even broken in yet. Seems to be worth the extra bucks.

If you read the owners manual 10w-30 is acceptable long as it is above 0F and overseas they recommended 15w-40 in the LT1. North American oil weight recommendations are driven by CAFE(corporate Average Fuel Economy) not by what works best.

10w-30 is NOT necessarily thicker than 5w-30 at operating tempature, matter of fact German Castrol 0w-30 is thicker than M1 5w-30 which is thicker than M1 10w-30, bet that throws everything you thought you knew right out the window.

M1 5w-30 and 10w-30 has been solidly shown to result in higher iron wear in LT1s and LS1s for that matter than other options at and below the same price.

I have the valvoline max life 10w-40 running right now and I am overall pleased with it. the engine runs very nice at 162K and I plan on keeping it that way.

another note I now put in 5.5 quarts in my car compared to just 5 and I have noticed a large gain in pressure.

The Corvette has 150k hard miles on Mobil 1. Factory recommended so it stayed on it. Goes oil change to oil change w/o losing any oil.
