it had a 3.23 gear

my friends '94 formula would barely spin the tires from a stop(street racing king!) let alone when shifting in to second.
it had a 2.73

I know, you wouldn't think another 1/2 turn of the pinion per revolution would make that big of a difference, but it does.

probably the fact that the '96 cars you've road in were 3.23, and the others were 2.73's...

thanks mighty whitey for actually answering my question not being a jackass

Is that the LS1..
That's one of the things stopping me from going to a M6 with the 402.. something about powershifting 3rd to 4th and going sideways...

Mines a 96 M6, exhaust/cai only, droppin into 3rd and dumpin the clutch and takin off it would chirp the tires at 70, but now that I have suspension work, it just hooks and goes, even on a 150 shot. Now, lower speeds on the bottle are a different story

It's not a measure of speed, we already said on the first page. Hell my bone stock '79 trans am, automatic, 6.6L with like 170hp at the most chirps going into 2nd gear and again going into 3rd, but my LS1 trans am doesnt make a sound. Our old '78 vega with probably 10 horsepower, automatic too, chirped going into 2nd. It's nothing.

A lot of people put shift kits in after i put my trans-go in a spin through second about 20 feet and i had 2.73s. LOL could also spin through third while power braking probably not to good on the tranny.

My friend has a stock as a rock 94 Accord and can chirp the tires powershifting into 2nd or 3rd. Guess his car is way more badass since I can't break the tires loose on the 2-3 shift in my LS1.

Seriously though, being able to spin the tires is more about the type of tires than the amount of power you make. Example: buddy had a 95 Z28 auto with some really shitty all season tires. From a dead stop without powerbraking he could roast the tires for 50' and make a huge smokeshow. My A4 Z28 has at least 50 more hp and has some good BFG KDW tires on it. I can maybe spin the tires for a few feet before they hook.

how exactly do you powershift the A4??

what kind of tires are on the car?? that may have more to do with it than anything else.
