Trans am vs. ????? hey guys my buddies got a 2004 ???? he is running 17 or 19lbs of boost and putting down 253 whp and 290wtq on a dynameter. he is wanting to run me from a 40 kick because he said his car spins to much. wat kind of race is this going to be for me. I know i kind out run him from a dig but i dont no about a roll. wat do yall guys think. i have a 94 TA a4 LT's,4in y,flowmasters, CAI, foil,pulleys,smaller balancer,3.73,free mods, plus just added rebuilt tranny, 3000stall, shift kit, amd the car now ways 3380

Everyone here says the ????s are slow, I think they aren't and hate me all you want, but my money is on him.
My car pulls much better @ 30 because it kicks down to first. If yours is the same, tell him you'll do it from 30

at 30 mine will not kick down to 1 i wish it wold though, i am going to tell i will run him from a 40 roll if he runs me from a 20 roll which puts me a 4500 rpm in 1st. 40 roll is 3300 rpm in 2nd. the guy in the neon beat my buddies 98 z28 which is stock by a 1 1/2 cars

Verdad Gallardo screw letting the tranny kick down....manually downshift that fugger into the gear you want. Don't tell you're doing roll racing in OD!?!?! 
you should be even with or a bit faster than a stock LS1 with your mods.
Run him from 40 in 2nd gear, nail it, shift into D as to not have the car bang the limiter and put some lengths on him. You're car is prolly making in the 290s rw, and weight doesn't matter from a roll...mass in motion.

3.73's a 3000 stall and Longtubes?.?.?
I don't know anything about the skittles but you should be a high 12 with good hook.
Tell him if youre going to agree to race from a roll, you also want a dig race. Thats fair.

yea that sounds fair to me too, and i mean that in first it would be like 5800rpms at 30 in 1st. my car ran 8.42 before weight reduction and 3000 stall and shift kit so i think i should get a stock ls1 by a 2 or three cars easy but i dont know

Get you some stickies tho. 3.73s and a stall aren't a street tire friendly combo!Don't forget the stall doesn't only help you launch the car at a higher rpm, it will also give you a better shift extension...keep the RPMs up a little higher after shift.
You should hand this guy his skittle-ly *** with ease!

My ls1 cut a 8.4 with my mods in sig. I don't see ur buddies ls1 being stock running a 8.4 although it is possible with sticky tires. Either way I think you will pull on him but if the race gets into the 100's he will pull back even and begin to leave.
