Default dual plane conversion anyone done this?

Has anyone used the gmperformance intake converted for fuel injection? It is rated foe 1500-6500rpm. With an advertised 30f lbs of torque because of the longer runners.
Would this be a decent intake if your not revving past 65-6800? Would there be anygains to it?

Whats everyones opinion?

I personally would like to goto this since my motor is stock, and I like torque Assuming the HP stays the same that is.

I think tomorrow I might give Aaron at intakeelbows a call and ask him about that intake. It had to have been made for somebody, I mean I doubt they would go to all the trouble of modding one just so they could take a pic and then put it on a shelf. (But who knows.)

True, but then again, you have to have something to initially show people to make sales You'll have to let us know what he says (duh , I know)

I sent Aaron at intakeelbows an e-mail about this intake earlier. When (and if) I hear anything back, I'll relay the info here.

Been talked about before
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...ghlight=intake

Of course in that thread we basically said it cannot be done, But about a month ago I talked to Wilson manifolds and they said they EFI dual plane intakes all the time, they said it would not be a problem.
I would definatly think about it if I could go back in time, I have a LE Edelbrock LT4 intake that should be coming back from LE here in about 1-2 weeks though

Did you happen to get any specifics from them about when (or if) a dual plane design would be more suitable than a single plane?

No, unless that intake is a dual-plane.

UPDATE: Got a response back from Aaron. There's some good news and some bad news.

First, the bad news:

because I'm too busy (most of the time) with the intake elbows alone.

Fuel rails are $145 to match.

I did that one for a customer, and I didn't get any info on
horsepower/torque gains.

I'm sure you could get creative and use a newer single blade GM
throttle
body and elbow, you'd just have to wire it and make a throttle cable
bracket.

I don't know what car he used that for, but it was really tall when I
got done with it. He probably had a cowl hood.
Not too reassuring. Wilson makes elbows but if you use one of those you're pretty much in the same boat as with this guy as you still have to convert to an LSx style monoblade TB of some sort.

This .........

Fit under here......

With about 3/8 of an inch to spare, If I cut the brace out of the hood above the throttlebody I would have an inch or so.

The monoblade elbow Aaron makes will work for a dual bore LT1 TB.

BTW Aaron JUST made this elbow for me 3 or 4 months ago.

Uhhh you bolt it on the front, JUST like a monoblade. Why wouldn't it work?

If you take a stock intake that has been cut for a monoblade you can still bolt a dual bore stock style TB on it, what's the difference? Mounting holes are the same.

I can bolt a stock style right on mine.

No man, I think you misunderstood. The only elbows Aaron's selling anymore are the style that fit LSx throttle bodies. Whole different ball of wax.

So after all is said and done, with the intake manifold, elbow, conversion price, throttlebody if your using a single blade, misc hoses, fittings, and intake ducting. You will be spending around 1 grand for all that. Thats money that could be better spent on other areas for a bolt-on to mildly modified car. Especially for just a dual plane intake.
But if you really want to do it, you could do away with the elbow and get one of these from say, holley, to just throw a name out there. Im sure there are more out there. You will have to get a little creative with the intake ducting but its not really a big deal.
