What Is The Max Hp Out Of Lt1!!!!!
Just curious what is the maxium HP ya'll have seen, or read, that someone has gotten out of a LT1...."WITHOUT"....power adders. Want new engine, and really want to stay with an LT1, I like being the underdog, but want LS7 power(500hp)! Any links or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

over 700na is the highest i have heard of. it had sb2.2 heads and a single plane intake. any motor can make big hp but it take cubic dollars. 500hp na flywheel on a lt1 is pretty easy.

My opinion is as long as the heads are reverse cooled, its still an LT1. I plan on being over 500 RWHP NA as soon as my motor is back together. Theres quite a few LT1 cars putting 500 plus to the ground on motor, it is not very hard to do, especially with a good heads/cam/intake combo. Most do it with a single plane converted to EFI setup.

Man I feel stupid, I thought LT1 motors were being pushed to get 400! This great news for me, and only make the decission easier to stay with my LT1 motor. 94strokedz let me know what you are doing with your motor. Thanks everyone!

Probably JOe overton without power adders.... that thing made crazy power....
there are several on here that are either building or already have 500 rear wheel hp LT1's that are naturally aspirated...
but i can probably count how many of them have lt1 intakes on 1 hand.... my thing is on lt1 authenticity is the block.... intakes do not make the LT1..... it is like no other sbc.... reverse cooling is one thing but really the LT1 block makes it an LT1... if you are still using that block it's an LT1 regardless of what accessories you put on it...
for example if you put a single plane on it is it a standard SBC at that point??? Uhhhh no.... it's an LT1..... it will always be an LT1....

Yes, I have to agree.revise. If it's reverse cooled and the stock intake (and block, opti (coil pack conversion I'll allow), stuff like that) then It's an LTx motor. Aftermarket heads, edelbrock LTx intake, still qualifies because it's just "better" original parts.
