LS1 Lid On LT1 Car
Does anyone know if the LS1 lid on a LT1 will also work with the FTRA (Fast Toys) kit ? If so, do you think that there would be a appreciable gain from this type setup over the factory WS6 LT1 ram air setup ?
Ive got the FTRA on my setup...works well. But I wouldnt trade it out for the WS6 ram air setup...thats probably a better setup than the FTRA, IMO.
Does anyone have some pics of where they had to cut stock hood to make the lid fit? I want to see exactly how difficult it would be to do, and where exactly and how much I'd have to cut.

i don't think you can get more direct/cooler air than a box thats sealed to the hood

Has anyone pushed this CAI/ram air/lid idea to the point where its a sealed system all the way out to the bumper? I've seen the SLP metal duct version for Ls1 cars which moves the air intake point down to the bottom of the radiator I wonder why no one has tried to do this with some kinda tubing/hose to connect to say the back of the fog light area for a true ram air/cold air connectin? If you could find some smaller diameter K&N pod type filters you could make a dual system coming off the bottom of a ls1 lid/box down to the backside of the 2 fog light holes?
It's not much to cut, just the cross-bracing that is right above the Lid.
I cut the steel in that Brace out where the Fog Lights were to where it flows a good amount of Air in through the front of the Car right into the Radiator, and to the Lid, so it's always picking up the air infront of the Car. Pretty much a full-time CAI.
