Default 405hp on Mustang Dyno

Finally got the car dynoed after 3 years of having it together. 405hp and 539tq (converter flash) with the exhaust uncapped. And this on a Mustang dyno with a th400! It made 370hp through the flowmaster. A big thanks to Charlie and Cindy at Auto Motion in Louisville, KY

Oh yeah, I forgot to add NA to the numbers. I have not dynoed the nitrous yet. (I have a problem with my fuel pressure safety switch so I need to replace it first)

Crazy torque there! Is that common for 383's?

Stall Convertor flashing can give higher, inaccurate readings on dynos. While it is not a true measure of the engines actual performance, it is a testamant to the effectiveness a good stall can have on ET's and real world conditions

i would not consider converter flash inaccurate.that is the amount of power being transfered to the rear wheels.the 60' times will be a testement to high torque readings.nice set up btw. i have somthing similar on my engine stand right now.just waiting for my current engine to give up the ghost!

Maybe that was worded a bit hazy on my part. It is inaccurate as a comparative measurement for engine output. You cannot do the traditional 16-20%(value is debatable) calculation for flywheel output based on rear wheel numbers on a stalled automatic. The stall is doing its job - the engine does not make ~650 ft lbs or torque at the flywheel like it would seem, but it dynos as if it did

Puck your right about the torque to the wheels not being relevant to engine output.i was just sticking up for stalled autos they dont get the credit they deserve around here!

Here here They really shine on the track. I don't know how many times I have heard about 6 speed to th400 swaps that picked up ET with no other changes. I am not knocking M6s at all. They are a blast to drive and less HP loss. Its just hard to beat an efficent converter and little RPM drop between shifts.

Please tell me this is a pump gas car.

Nice numbers, did you remove all the exhaust to gain from 370 to 405 or just the cutout open?

I did 365rwhp w/ my le3 setup, 11.7:1 compression 355 with having some issues.
