Default Low mount alt, custom PS!!!!!!!!

Well after going with the low mount alt. and driving my car around a ton on the street still, and now deciding to run big wheels on the street again it was a must to have power steering. After several different ideas finally designed one that works great and did not have to lose my alt bracket!!! Very happy with how well it tucked in place. here is a few pics of the set up.

Not even noticeable under the CAI!!!

I will get a exact measurement on that, I can say that from 1000-7000 rpms it is doing just fine.

I wish I would've know you were going to do this, because I could've sold you this:

It's got a sliding mechanism for the "claw" so that you have some adjustability for lining the P/S pulley up with the other pullies. The polished stainless link bar uses one of the water pump bolts for anchorage and can be tightened/loosened to act as a belt tensioner.

bringing it back from the dead. How hard was it to fabb up a bracket for this? I'm going to autozome tomorrow to try to figure something out and build my own, but if someone can help me out I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Well later in the week I plan on going to the junkyard and getting a power steering pump and starting on a bracket. If it turns out I may make a few of them up and try to sell them. The only problem would be the low mount alternator with an idler pulley fabbed on. I planned on ordering a madman bracket, but for $165 I'll work on making my own.

I'd ask for a template of a relocation bracket so I can make my own, but I don't want to step on any toes and **** off the guys making them and selling them. But it shouldn't be that hard to figure out and make myself.

Either that or I'm going to hack up my stock mount and keep the stock PS pump, but I like the regal pump idea alot better. The only thing I'm really worried about is the belt slipping or being thrown like mentioned above

yea thats where i got my idea as well. I changed it up a little bit from his. I just did mine last week. It took me probably about 4-5 hours cutting it all and test fitting it to make sure it would all work. I like it though it fits really close and cleans up the engine bay.

One advice I can give is the top ear that u cut off try to cut it through the thick part. I used that top piece to make a braket for the top bolt. I did not bolt the back of the alt to the block like on the pics that yoy have due to limited space due to the stock k-member.

good luck on doing yours. if you use piggyback style underdrive pullies as well then your belt should be a 54" at least it was for mine.
