Anyone ever recycled a cat?

Someone told me that cats are worth alot if you take them to a metal recycling shop. Anyone conferm that? And how much did you get out of it?

Yea, the metal in them is semi-rare. I don't know how legal it is though >_>

i've done it many times they will look in the inside to see if there is any of the metals are worth ne thin then if its good you might get $10-20 per cat. i am sure gutted ones wont work

mine is gutted but i have the guts i'll just pour them back in

so i got a $75 which is amazing and a $10-20. How did you get $75 you can buy a new one for less.

yea, ive seen a plugged cat off of a little nissian truck bring 80 dollars. imagine what i big one would bring!

Yes you will gain HP I did it to mine 5 maybe 10 at most i was more impressed with the sound than anything.

A plugged cat will kill a car. My old Park Ave (94 or something) gained 60miles per tank after I removed it's cat lol

factory ones are worth between 40 to 70 bucks as long as the honeycomb is still intact. you only get 20 for the aftermarket ones. I believe their after the platnium in them. Guys are advertising all over craigslist to buy them. We have a recycler that comes by our shop to buy them.

There's a guy paying $130 per pair or $65 per cat here. I was going to ship my old cats off to him but my dad was telling me that I can get a lot more for them.

One of my mechanic friends just sold two cats for $300 total to a guy to gets the metal out of the middle. If he's paying $300, it makes me wonder how much he's selling the metal for.

My mom works for the USDA and someone started to cut the cat off their semi-new Chevy pickup a while back--didn't finish the job for some reason. The police said they can make meth out of some of the guts of a cat. I thought that was kinda off the wall but then again I don't make meth.
