Valve spring install tool??
Valve spring install tool?? Well I've got my LT4 Hot Kit coming for this week and are trying to round up the items I need so one tool I'm not for sure about is the valve spring tool. What do I need and where do I get it?? I have the tool for the LS1s from Thunder but I don't think it will work?? I will be changing them with the heads on so if anybody has any pointers I'd APPRECIATE it very much! Thanks guys and gals if there are?

Have both the LT1/Gen1 chevy and the Lsx one and never ever go back to the cheap one's. Snakeoiler that one does not work well at all if the spring pressure is hight or if the springs are bigger around then stockers.

the overhead ones suck, the best one which i believe you guys are talking about is the big long one that holds the valve while it compresses the spring with the retainer, there is another one that bolts to the rocker stud as well and uses that as a pivot i think, the overhead ones suck though

Here is my tool I make for the LT version for doing valve springs. My tool is heavy duty and will do any springs. I also include a longer 7/16 stud for doing the big tall springs. I only charge $30 shipped to your door for the tool. Save yourself the $60 for other mods over other tools out on the market. Here is the link to my tool. Not trying to push it, just trying to help people out and this is why I make them and do not charge very much for them.

I use a tool like snakeoiler linked too but a little nicer one with plastic larger **** or remove that and put a wrench on it. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....store&tool=all I found one cheaper somewhere else but you get the point.
The Crane one and similar look quite nice too.
No need for compressed air. If you bring each cylinder to TDC as you work them the valves only fall a short distance.
