Default True duals?

im considering getting TSP True duals for my 96 LT1. the only problem is that i would have to get a Trans mounted TQ arm with a relocation kit. it alot more expensive the just getting a chassis mounted. basically my question is. do the Duals flow so much better then a Y pipe with a turn down that i shouldnt even consider it or is it not going to make a real horse power difference. its just going to be a bolt on car with nitrous for now and a H/C combo later on fully forged etc... so are the true duals worth the extra money for the TQ arm kit?

For just a bolt-on engine, duals may not be worth the trouble from a horsepower standpoint... unless your more after the sound. For H/C motors or strokers it becomes more beneficial to run duals.

Whats irritating is that both Spohn and UMI make torque arms for 3rd gen cars that come with a new trans crossmember for the torque arm to mount to with a built in driveshaft loop...

http://www.spohn.net/product.cfm?productid=1307
(UMI make them like this too even though it's not on their site yet. I saw it a while back in the "New product showcase" section of this site)

...and buying one of those is considerably cheaper than buying a trans-mount torque arm plus the relocation kit for our 4th gens...and then we still get the shaft on having a driveshaft loop My car is low, so this is my only option. I know that people have made duals that go around the typical "tunnel mount" torque arms, but those compromise far too much ground clearance for me.

Even more irritating is the fact that I emailed UMI about them possibly stepping up and making a Torque arm for our 4th gens that solves all of the problems that I stated in the above paragraph...yet I never got any sort of response from them at all

buy a "x" kit from summit or jeg's . . . buy some turndowns . . . buy mufflers . . . fit to car and lightly clamp or weld . . . remove and fully weld

using oval tubing now . . . you think a t/a is expensive . . . lmao . . . an oval X costs as much as a used tunnel brace mount t/a

Agree completely, there are more feasible options if you're basically stock right now that would give you a little more horsepower and good musclecar rumble, once you stroke or do heads/cam true duals are outstanding!

so if im not going to do h/c for another year... it would make sense to just do a y pipe, a muffler and a turn down?
