un-vented opti dowel pin length

i bought a cam from summitracing and it seems that all they sell is cams for vented opti's so i am going to have to get the dowel pin shortened, i just need to know the length

tried to search, all i can find is the dowel pin length for the vented poti.

Just chop it enough to not interfere. The actual length is not important.

just keep it long enough to poke through the timing gear and short enough not to push in on the back of the opti.

how would i go about shortening the dowel? cut it or hammer it in?

you dont want it too long so it rubs the back of teh opti..then it goes kaboom
