Default Time to do some mods...

What to do first? I have a 94 TA, with 180K, and a new NAPA motor with 3K. The car is an auto with the 2.73 rear end. Take off is kind of weak, nothing like the Nissans I build, but I figure I can change this. Glancing through the Summit catalog, got me thinking of changing out the rear end first, maybe going with a 3.73. Can't decide on gear though, hope to swap to a 6 spd within the year sometime, and also going with a turbo setup here within the year too. I just want to bump up the fun for now, but still do things that will benefit my later modifications. What should be the first few things to install on a stocker? Budgeting about $500 a month to go towards the car.

gears will wake the car up a good bit, especially stepping up from 2.73. then just do the general stuff like intake and exhaust.

Should I go with a 3.73 or 4.10?

Yeah to high is not cool to unless its street and strip or drag. I actually would go 3,42-3,73 Best of both worlds.

i like my 3.73s. some people try to get me to go higher, but i'm not looking to do that. 3.73 is a good median. i've heard good things about 3.42 too... they're slightly less aggressive.

So I was looking in the Summit Catalog, and talked to the guys there, and they're saying around 2-300 for the gears and 125 for the install kit, pretty easy to do yourself? Think I should go this route first?

4:10s are good gears for 6speed, a little overkill for an auto. also if you plan on doing a turbo i would recommend 3:73.

The general consensus on the gear is this:
Naturally aspirated - 3.73
Turbo - 3.42. The turbos like the load of the higher gear. I am extremely pleased with mine.
And be sure and get the gears made for the 2-series carrier, which is what you have. And get the full install kit, with the bearings and everything.
