LT4 or LE2
well i just bought an LT1 intake to port it out to fit a 58mm throttlebody, stripped it and then powdercoated it red than i looked at the intake castings. turns out that it is a real LT4 intake
so now that i have a steady job i want to put heads and a cam into my car, so should i just get a LT4 hotcam and LT4 heads since i already have the intake
or just sell the LT4 intake and clean up my original LT1 intake and tear it apart the car and send the heads to Loyd Elliot since he is 2 hours away and get his LE2 package.
by the way i have every bolt-on for the car right now and the motor has 5000 miles on the new 355 motor

Since the OP said he bought an LT1 intake to use with his LT1 heads but then discovered it was an LT4 casting, I'm assuming either he or whoever sold it to him knew it was not an original or unmodified LT4 intake and that it would work with his LT1 heads.

LT4 intakes can easily be modified to fit a LT1 and one place used to sell them saying it was an upgrade..it wasn't but they did it.
easy way to tell an LT4 intake. look where the arrow is then examin the rest of the pics
This an LT1
Here is the LT4 (blasted for hidden N2O stealth duty)
A few more

1. I have several LT1 intakes with crossover provisions with either a 1, 2, 3, or 4 cast in the position that you indicated.
2. I looked at three LT4 intakes and they all had a 1 in that position.
3. I found two 1997 LT1 intakes with a 2 in that position.
4. Every 1993 intake that I found didn't have a number in that position.
Maybe you should post which casting number you have. It will be cast betwean the runners on the passenger side.
1993 will be 10208145 (Doesn't have the crossover)
1994-96 will be 10108630
1997 will be 12552138 (At least some 1996's had this intake)
1996-97 LT4 will be 12550631
I hope that this helps.
